Call for Abstracts
International Conference
ITS 2023
"Intelligent Systems and Consciousness Society"
2-3 November 2023
Cultural Center of the University of Patras, Greece
The International Conference ITS 2023: "Intelligent Systems and Consciousness Society" is organized by the University of Patras, Department of Civil Engineering, in cooperation with ITS Hellas, with the support of the Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, during 2-3 November 2023, in the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras, Greece.
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) represent the state of the art in transportation infrastructure and networks and ensure comfortable, fast, and safe movement of people and goods in smart cities and communities. Connected (C-ITS) and Conscious Connected Intelligent Transportation Systems (CC-ΙTS) are key elements in the roadmap towards vehicle autonomy and the empowerment of the mobile citizen in decision-making. This is founded on reshaped holistic understanding and the optimal interpretation of values and situations involving people, objects, and vehicles for drastically improved mobility and safety.
New submission deadline is June 15, 2023. In addition to the oral presentations, the University of Patras is now accepting abstracts for conference workshops, sessions, and posters. Regarding the abstract submission abstract, you can find more in the call for abstracts<http://conference2023.upatras.gr/index.php/conference/announcements/52-call…> and in the conference website<http://conference2023.upatras.gr/>.

Researchers at Polytechnique Montréal, INRS, and Université Laval are conducting research on estimating traffic danger with respect to children's daily travel (as a vulnerable group). The objective is to develop a tool to estimate traffic danger for cities so that they might better know where to focus interventions. The focus groups will be held in April through June (2023) and the exact time will be determined in consultation with participants. As we are using a multi-criteria decision aiding process, there will be roughly three discussions for participants.
We are looking for:
1. Experts in traffic safety (of diverse disciplines). For experts, the first focus group will last between two and three hours. Please complete this short form: https://forms.gle/2hJ9tj2BLijUJuyV9
2. Parents of children in elementary school (aged 7 through 13). Please complete this short form: https://forms.gle/snWXMJ9V6Hhh34rR6
3. Children aged 8 to 12. Please complete this short form: https://forms.gle/snWXMJ9V6Hhh34rR6
This project has been approved by the Research ethics committee of Polytechnique Montréal CER-2223-63-D.

Hello H+T committee,
I'm working with the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency (HIRTA) on an ITS4US-funded project, [Health Connector](https://www.ridehirta.com/its4us), to improve transportation access to healthcare.
Outside of the CTAA conference, the Health Connector project itself doesn't fit perfectly into many other conference and outreach opportunities, but we'd really love to get the word out about it. An important component of our work is making sure that the solution is scalable and transferable to other sites. I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for audiences that would be a good fit for projects that aren't fully public health-focused and also not fully non-emergency medical/healthcare focused alongside transportation.
Thank you!
