We know that changing health information can lead to confusion, mistrust, disengagement, and difficulty making health decisions. In part, these consequences result from a failure to convey the nature of information and scientific discovery, leaving many poorly prepared to interpret and use new information to make health decisions. We need proactive solutions that foster a realistic public understanding of the values and limits of information to prevent future changes from eroding trust and confidence and to prepare individuals to use new information to make the best health decisions for themselves. NCI seeks individuals with experience researching or communicating about evolving information across disciplines and content areas. Followup to TRB AME70: Accessible Streetscape project

Good morning all, Hope this email finds you well and great to see you last week at TRB. Just wanted to recap what I mentioned in your committee meeting (thanks for fitting me in Ipek!). Love to have any help you and your network can provide to advance this project. All people in a community rely on the transportation network to get from point A to point B in the interest of living, working, and playing. However, the system historically has not been designed to benefit all users equally. More specifically, there are design and planning considerations that have not been wholly considered, resulting in adverse consequences to the physical mobility plus the interactive and safe use of streetscapes for people with disabilities. Those design and planning considerations have proliferated over the years for various reasons and context, but boil down to a lack of awareness of the concept of inclusive accessibility and the real life implications to end users (understanding “to walk in their shoes”). Deliverables - Resource guide exploring streetscape accessibility from mobility, vision, hearing, cognitive ability, and language barrier perspectives. I am Co-editor of a new book “Health on the Move 3: The Reviews” being published this year. Chapter 2 (I’m co-author) is a systematic review of reviews on Disability and Travel, which you may find helpful. We will also be producing a virtual special issue in Journal of Transport and Health with cut-down versions of each chapter, including one on disability and travel, which I hope will be open access. Every chapter (and the journal papers) are (will be) peer reviewed. Which Transportation Research journal for health?

Hi all, Hope you are doing well. I'm a PhD Candidate in Environmental Health at Boston University and looking for some insight on which Transportation Research journal (parts A-D) is most interested in transport and health research as I don't see health in any of their descriptions. Separately, I do find it interesting that health is missing. I'm preparing one of my dissertation aims for publication and it is focused on the health benefits of increasing walking and cycling activity in the Greater Boston area using a k-means clustering approach on top of travel survey data and health impact assessment. Thanks for your thoughts! Alternatively the Journal of Transport & Health seems quite appropriate for this research, but I thought I'd inquire about TRB publications here as well.
