*Subject:* Social Media Editors for Injury Prevention
Hello all
I am asking one last time for your help in identifying any colleagues who
might be interested in serving as social media editors for the journal.
We are seeking to appoint several young injury prevention professionals as
our social media editors. These individuals will work under the director of
a senior social media editor to maintain the journal’s blog and twitter
feed.
The goal of our social media platforms is to engage our readership,
potential authors and the broader injury prevention community with fresh,
timely and pertinent announcements, news features, commentary, debate and
ideas.
I have received CVs from a number of enthusiastic young colleagues. Most,
however, are from Australia and I am looking to broaden the geographic
representation.
I have attached a description of the position.
Please forward to anyone you think might be interested and able.
Brian

July 10-15, 2016, World Conference on Transport Research, Shanghai, China.
http://www.wctrs-conference.com/
Although not specifically focused on health aspects of transport, this triennial event is very large (probably 2,000 participants this time) and very broad and worthy of H+T's attention. It includes a stream G4 Cultural and Social Issues in Transport, which covers public health. Maybe worth visiting on your way back from the World Congress on Active Aging?

Greetings TRB Subcommittee friends,
This webinar series may be of interest to you and your networks.
Register for the series and access the toolkit at the bottom of this
website:
http://www.apha.org/events-and-meetings/webinars/understanding-environmenta…
The description from APHA follows:
The FrameWorks Institute recently completed a multi-year, multi-method
inquiry into how the American public thinks and talks about environmental
health. Sponsored by APHA and generously funded by the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, this research reveals effective strategies for
talking with the public about environmental health work and the impacts of
our environments on public health. APHA has just released an exciting new
set of communications tools and resources based on these findings. Participants
will learn about the research base that supports these tools and come away
with fresh tips and tools they can build into their communications right
away.
Dear Health and Transportation Subcommittee friends,
All of the Subcommittee's materials from the annual meeting, including the
meeting minutes, agenda, slides, and annual report, are now posted on the
Subcommittee's website.
You can find them here:
http://www.trbhealth.org/trb-meetings/trb-2015
Many thanks to everyone who attended the meeting, and to everyone who has
been volunteering to work on research needs, paper reviews, and
communications.
Look out for more information soon on the listserv about ways to work
together with health + transportation friends.
Kind regards,
Carey

Hello all! I hope that all TRB attendees had a good time and learned a lot!
As our subcommittee is growing and taking on more initiatives, we thought
it was a good time to reach out to all of you to get involved. We have a
number of interesting activities for a wide range of skills sets including
outreach to other TRB committees and partner organizations, brainstorming
research topics, and website maintenance. Check out our website to see some
examples of what's going on:
http://www.trbhealth.org/
We also have a special request and need for photos depicting Health and
Transportation. Currently the Subcommittee is working on a health-themed
issue of TRNews to be published in September 2015. As you might expect,
finding “good” photos that show health and transportation and would attract
interest are hard to come by. If you have any photos that you would like
to have considered please send them along. According to TRB submission
rules “Submit original artwork if possible. Glossy, high-quality black and
white photographs, color photographs and slides are acceptable. Digital
continuous-tone images must be submitted as TIFF or JPEG files and must be
at least 3 inch by 5 inch with a resolution of 300dpi. A caption should be
supplied for each graphic element.” And of course if your photo(s) is used
you will get photographic credit.
Please email Ed Christopher (ed.christopher(a)dot.gov) or Eloisa Raynault (
eraynault(a)planningcommunities.com) if you are interested in volunteering or
have some photos to share.
Thanks!
