Greetings TRB Health and Transportation Subcommittee,
Many friends of the subcommittee are interested in issues around access to goods and
services that support health, especially for vulnerable populations.
The new ChoiceMaps tool from Walk Score may be of interest to those friends; just a few US
cities are included in this iteration of the tool:
http://blog.walkscore.com/2013/04/choicemaps-new-way-to-measure-neighborhoo…
From the website: The tool uses Walk Score data to show
the number of neighborhood amenities within 5-, 10-, or 20-minute walks of a location. In
addition to restaurants, groceries, and coffee shops, it also lets you see the number of
schools, transit stops, bike-share stations, and car-share locations within walking
distance.
