Greetings TRB Health in Transportation Subcommittee Friends,
In observance of National Public Health Week, the American Public Health Association
invites you and your colleagues to join in a special free Google+ Hangout On Air about
active transportation’s role in helping the United States become the healthiest nation in
one generation. Making active transportation a realistic, affordable and convenient option
for all transportation users would help reduce health impacts and also promote physical
activity, recreation and environmental preservation.
This Google+ Hangout On Air will feature an exceptional panel of public health
professionals, leaders and advocates who will share unique perspectives and experiences
surrounding active transportation in communities. Our confirmed speakers for our NPHW
Active Transportation Hangout on Air this Friday are:
Amy Eyler, PhD, assistant professor at Washington University in St. Louis and chair of
APHA’s Physical Activity Section
Rachel A. Davis, MSW, managing director, Prevention Institute
Kate Kraft, PhD, national coalition director, America Walks
Susan Polan, PhD, associate executive director for public affairs and advocacy, American
Public Health Association
Join the event to share your questions and ideas with our panelists by using #NPHW here,
on Facebook or Twitter.
Watch the panel conversation live on the Google+ event page on Friday, April 11 at 2:00 pm
EST. To register, visit
