* For unknown reasons, the Call for the special issue on Transprot and Health in Latin
America was removed from the J Transp Health website. It will be going back as soon as the
relevant person is back from her holiday (!) I will circulate the URL as soon as it
reappears.
* Despite that, you CAN submit a manuscript by going to the usual EVISE submission site
and selecting the LatAm SI instead of a regular issue.
* And because of the vanished call, we are extending the deadline to 31st January 2019.

** Happy New Year and 2019!
------------------------------------------------------------
Urban Design 4 Health, Inc. is thankful for the many researchers, practitioners, and
policymakers who share our passion for building an environment that promotes health and
well-being for all. We hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and we wish you the very
best in 2019 ahead!
At UD4H, Inc., we had another successful year. Here are two key highlights:
1) We developed a
nationally complete and consistent comprehensive database
(
http://urbandesign4health.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/RWJF_NED_500_Citie…)
of built, natural, and social environment variables known to predict health and
established a national walkability index
(
http://urbandesign4health.com/ud4h-establishes-the-national-walkability-ind…)
for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Culture of Health.
2) We created and applied a National Public Health Assessment Model (NPHAM) for the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency
(see: scenario-planning tools
(
http://urbandesign4health.com/projects/hia-plug-in-scenario-planning) ) that enables
communities to predict chronic health outcomes and to monetize the health impact
(
http://urbandesign4health.com/projects/health-monetization-of-active-transp…) of
transportation and land-use scenarios.
Our team is eager in 2019 to build on our successes and continue to make strides in both
research and practice and look forward to building upon existing and developing new
collaborations going forward!
