Geography file in ACS 2005-2009

Hi everyone, I was trying to merge the geography file with the estimates file in ACS 2005-2009 5 Year data. I could not find the geography file which had Summary level, State, county and census tract FIPs as we had for Census 2000 and even Census 2010 summary files. The ACS documentation is rather very unclear and does not seem to be in order. Any remedies or suggestions? question about HUD Low-Mod census tabulation

I know this isn't a CTPP question- but I'm looking for the HUD Low Mod Income tabulation from post 2000 census at the census tract level. It seems like I read an email about this recently, but can't find it, and can't remember what I read. Has Census done their special tabulation for HUD at the census tract level from ACS? Are they going to? If not, what are people using for low/moderate income data for HUD related programs that require this? I'm trying to find a way to replace the field headers, B0010001 for example, with a more descriptive title. Does anyone have a way of doing this? I can't find the data dictionary for the ACS - does anyone have a link? SAVE THE DATE: WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16th 2011, 10:00-11:00AM EST A Webinar from the National Center for Transit Research's Transit GIS Clearinghouse: Real-Time Bus Tracking and Customer Information in New York City: MTA's Open Approach to Doing it Faster and Cheaper Webinar Objectives: The objectives of this webinar are to: * Inform other members of the transit and agency community regarding MTA's approach to developing and implementing a real-time bus tracking and customer information system at reduced costs and schedules * Offer lessons learned to peers considering a similar approach * Elicit interest among other agencies for co-investment in the open source, software package powering the back end of MTA's system Webinar Description: This Webinar will explain Metropolitan Transit Authority's (MTA) approach to developing its real-time bus tracking and customer information system (branded "MTA Bus Time") for its fleet of 6,000 buses and 2.5 million daily, bus riders in New York City. Mr. Michael Frumin will discuss the technical and procurement/contracting strategies that are allowing MTA to achieve its customer-facing and internal objectives for the project. These customer-facing objectives include minimizing the time to deliver the MTA Bus Time service to customers, and making the information widely available to all customers wherever, whenever, and however they may want it. The internal objectives are primarily to minimize both the capital and whole-life cost of the project, as well as to maintain the flexibility to change the system over time as technologies and needs evolve. The strategies to achieve these objectives are many. Among the most critical are the adoption of mobile and internet-based delivery of customer information; provisioning of free, publically available developer API's; use of open standard interfaces and commercially available technology components; sharing of on-bus infrastructure between projects and systems; open source software licensing; and MTA adopting the role of the overall systems integrator willing to contract with multiple vendors. lowmod data

Does anyone know if HUD has calculated the lowmod (low and moderate income) data by census tract and block group based on the 2005-2009 ACS data. These data were used for CDBG (community development block grants) and for some city programs. Thank you. Marie Bousfield

2010 Census UA Criteria

Texas Transportation Institute: Transit Mobility Program has been applying the Census 2010 UA Criteria released on August 24, 2011. We have been assisting the TxDOT Public Transportation Division in their efforts to anticipate the impacts of UA and UC changes. A co-worker and I have been conducting analysis on specific urban clusters/areas as per TxDOT's needs for anticipating the impact of changes on transit formula funding. I have spoken with some contacts within the Census Geography Department and am confident I have a good grasp of data sources and interpretation of the criteria. However, the analysis we have done has not been via a script or code in GIS. We have been manually applying certain steps of the criteria, such as the changes relating to impervious surface, to augment some recent statewide research we had already completed (we projected 2010 UAs several years ago). I think that Martin Catala at CUTR may have a student now working on a script and code for the criteria. Anyone interested may contact me to discuss TTI's process and findings.
