There are a couple of additional regularly occurring conferences with a transportation
focus where such cross discipline opportunities might be of some interest. These include
the following:
* TRB Tools of the Trade Conference - biennial event whose location moves around the
country. Most recently took place in Boise, ID on August 29-August 31, 2022. The audience
focus at these events is small and medium size MPOs, RTPOs, and state DOTs whose members
can implement newly described technical procedures.
* TRB Rural, Small Urban, and Intercity Bus Conference - biennial event whose location
moves around the country. Medical transportation services for those without easy access to
personal transportation is always a topic of interest to this group.
* Regional and national conferences hosted by the American Planning Association (APA)
and the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO)
* Regional and national conferences hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers
(ASCE) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
All of the cited organizations are interested in expanding their outreach and information
sharing across a broader range of technical areas. The Health Connector project might well
be of interest to multiple agency events.
Best of luck in your outreach to these other organizations.

I would also share this information with National RTAP and with those working to expand
anything Danish-style in MaaS. I would also contact Jana Lynott at AARP, who has been
working on these issues.

Hello Heidi,
Great project!
In addition to what Steve has already provided, this is a topic that is directly related
to the TRB's AME70 Transportation and Health Committee's scope. I'll get back
to you with more details.
Thanks,

I'm on the board of
IPATHinc.org. Glad to share. We are looking for webinar topics.
Our next conference will be in 2024. Very pertinent.
Most state transit associations offer training opportunities at annual conferences and
some also on-line. I belong to 3.
I'm also an Easterseals contractor for the National Aging and Disability
Transportation Center -
NADTC.org - which is well aware of this project and may have
already done a webinar.
I'll be at the IATR conference later this month in Memphis. This would be relevant to
their program next year anyway, as IATR regulators oversee taxis, limos, paratransit and
other ride providers.
Glad to make those connections.
Transportation to healthcare and other destinations really should be part of a solid
social work curriculum - especially at universities affiliated with the USDOT UTC program

Subject: [TRBHealth] Health/healthcare + transportation outreach opportunities?
Hello H+T committee,
I'm working with the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency (HIRTA) on an ITS4US-funded
project, Health
Connector<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2…amp;reserved=0>,
to improve transportation access to healthcare.
Outside of the CTAA conference, the Health Connector project itself doesn't fit
perfectly into many other conference and outreach opportunities, but we'd really love
to get the word out about it. An important component of our work is making sure that the
solution is scalable and transferable to other sites. I'm wondering if anyone has
suggestions for audiences that would be a good fit for projects that aren't fully
public health-focused and also not fully non-emergency medical/healthcare focused
alongside transportation.
Thank you!
