health in transportation decisions
Thursday, August 24
1 – 2 p.m. EDT
Description:
APHA believes in working with the transportation sector to create equitable and healthy
transportation policies and practices. Since its release in 2015, the Transportation and
Health Tool has been an online resource for public health and transportation professionals
alike. Using this important tool, practitioners can learn how their states and
metropolitan regions stack up against their peers in terms of key health and
transportation indicators. In this webinar, you’ll hear transportation professionals
promoting initiatives and efforts to integrate health considerations into their
transportation decisions and policies. And they’ll tell you how they used the
Transportation and Health Tool to do it.
Featuring:
* Ann Gravatt, Planning Supervisor, Transportation Alternatives, Byways, Federal Land
Access Programs Statewide and Regional Planning, Delaware Department of Transportation
* Melissa A. Kraemer Badtke, Principal Planner/Safe Routes to School Coordinator, East
Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission
* Elizabeth Whitton, Transportation Planner, MetroPlan Orlando
Check out our newly released case
studies<http://action.apha.org/site/R?i=kvuk0TTk4XbnVKc7XNlSkA> outlining how five
departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations are using the
Transportation and Health Tool in their work.
Recordings of APHA webinars will be made available after the live event.
