2000 Urbanized Area

Hello, Maybe someone out there can help me. I am trying to find the 2000 Census Urbanized Area shapefiles so we can do a comparison of the 2000 vs. 2010 urbanized area boundaries. I have been searching all over the Census website and they have had great success in hiding this data from view. If anyone out there has the link to where you can download the 2000 urbanized area boundaries I would greatly appreciate it! Census Single Family, Multi Family, & Auto Ownership

1. The 2010 census doesn't directly contain the information needed to determine single family and multi family dwelling units. A better indicator is the use of parcel data along with 911 data to determine single family and multi family dwelling units. 2. The 2010 census didn't collect the auto ownership data that was collected in 2000. 2010 Census Pop & Housing Data at the Block Level

I am trying to find out if Single Family and Multi-Family population, housing and auto availability are available for download from the 2010 Census. Census pop estimates

This is an interesting article Wendell Cox sent me from a friend of friend. We all remember when the Census Bureau changed from using county based estimates to using sub-county estimates in 2009 which are then used to factor and weight the ACS. Census allowing for apps

This came across the census news today. This could be the start of something big. Web Transformation Census Application Programming Interface (API) — The Census Bureau is releasing its first ever API. This online service provides the building blocks for developers to design online and mobile apps, such as interactive maps, charts and databases, using a variety of Census Bureau statistics. The API provides statistics down to the neighborhood level (tracts and block groups) from the 2010 Census Summary File 1 and the 2006-2010 American Community Survey. With these two datasets available in the form of an API, database editors and other developers have easier access to a wide variety of timely, localized information, including population totals, age, sex, race, Hispanic origin, home ownership, education, income, employment, commuting and occupation. The API is currently undergoing beta testing and is scheduled for public release in July. Save the Date: Training opportunity for Chicago area users.

Hi All, CTPP training will be offered in Chicago on August 6th and 7th 2012. Registration details will be available after July 15th, but it will be free and open to transportation planners and data users. Registration will be limited. CTPP training is a day and a half of data, data issues, census, CTPP and hands on training and work with the data and CTPP products. You will gain an in depth understanding of how and when to use the data set and software, along with a deep knowledge of the pitfalls and advantages. A laptop with internet access (to available wifi) and a CD reader is recommended. The training will be from 12 - 4:30 on Monday and 8:30 - 4:00 on Tuesday. NTD Urbanized Area

NTD recently released their guidelines, their Allocation of NTD Data/2010 Census form letter, and 2 spreadsheets showing the urbanized areas in the US and their corresponding populations. These are the UZAs and population that must be used.
