Hi All,
If you are, or know someone who is, interested in serving on the CTPP Oversight Board, please direct them my way. The Board oversees all activities of the CTPP program; budget, data, training, research and outreach. In order to maintain appropriate representation, the board consists of eight MPO members, geographically and size diverse; and eight state members, 2 from each AASHTO region.
We currently have an opening for a 200,000 to 500,000 person MPO (or RPO, etc.) in the west (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming). Please reply directly to me, off list, pweinberger(a)aashto.org
Thanks,

Who is CTPP Training aimed at?
CTPP Training is chiefly aimed at data users at MPOs and
States. It is appropriate for consultants and students as well.
This training is designed for anyone who is required to work on
long range planning, congestion management, travel forecast,
air quality analysis.
CTPP training sessions are typically one and half days of
hands-on work in a computer based setting. Participants will
engage in discussion, practice analytical skills through exercises,
learn to navigate the CTPP software, and leave with a better
understanding of what transportation data are available and
what are the avoidable pitfalls to using them.
Subjects Covered
Understanding and Dealing with Data Issues
* In-depth, ongoing discussion optimally resulting in better,
smarter data users
Transportation Data and How to Get It
* CTPP, ACS, JTW-What do these acronyms mean? What
agencies collect and produce these data? How accurate,
current, reliable are they?
What Kind of Data Is Collected and Where Is It?
* Commutes, Tours, Modes. Websites, Search engines, Hard
Files-What's out there, how is it found, how is it acquired?
Census and CTPP Geography, Understanding It, Using It
* Custom geography for planning applications
CTPP Data Access Software
* A hands-on, follow-along, in depth, tutorial: Attendees will
create a profile of an area using many features of the CTPP
Data Access Software
Each class is customized for the locality and participants will
receive invaluable access to information and resources that
they will use again and again. The training is interesting,
informative, vital and entertaining.

Hello,
I'm curious about TAZ identifiers for certain counties in the CTPP 2000 data set. For example, in Clay County, Missouri (FIPS #047), TAZs are numbered 299-376 with some delineated like 363A and 363B, while others aren't (with no letter concatenated). I'm assuming in this case, 363A and 363B were subdivided from 363. Is that correct?
Thanks.

BTS Webinar Behind the Numbers: Exploring Transportation Statistics - Bike Statistics
1:30pm ET on Tuesday, April 25
National Bike Month is just around the corner! Ever wonder how much cycling is going on? We wonder as well! In this webinar we're going to be highlighting national and local efforts to count cyclists. We will also explore how bike-share expands modal choice and extends the existing transportation system by providing access to destinations off existing public transportation routes. Join presenters from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, Federal Highway Administration, and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and explore the role data plays in monitoring and observing key trends in bicycle transportation. Presentations will cover non-motorized count extensions to the Traffic Monitoring Guide (TMG) and the Traffic Monitoring Analysis System (TMAS), the MPO Bike/Ped Count Technology Pilot Project as well as highlights from the Intermodal Passenger Connectivity Database (IPCD).
