Ed, yes, they do calculate density. On AFF, it is a "Geographic Comparison Table" for places at http://factfinder2.census.gov/bkmk/table/1.0/en/DEC/10_SF1/GCTPH1.US13PR The same table for counties is at http://factfinder2.census.gov/bkmk/table/1.0/en/DEC/10_SF1/GCTPH1.US05PR What most folks don't know is that you can find the total area, land area, water area, and population in Summary File 1 on the "Geographic Header", not the P or H tables. To see the geo header in AFF, you can select it under "Product Type" in the Topics selector then select SF1 in the "Dataset". Caution - the area in the geo header is provided in square meters! You have to convert it to square miles by dividing the figure by 2,589,988.
