Mark your calendars! The CTPP Program and TRB Census Subcommittee will
jointly sponsor a webinar on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 1-2 pm Central.
Looking for historical census data? Can't find the current census data you
are looking for? Then this webinar is for you!
John Blodgett of the University of Missouri Office of Social and Economic
Data Analysis (OSEDA) will offer a presentation and demonstration of tools
available through the <http://census.missouri.edu/> Missouri State Data
Center (MCDC). The MCDC is a premier site in the country for accessing
census and other public, machine-readable demographic and geographic data.
Topics will include:
* An overview of the MCDC's Uexplore/Dexter software
* Live examples of using Uexplore/Dexter to locate and extract data
with special emphasis on data from the 2010 Census and the American
Community Survey
* Using MCDC custom web applications to look at profile and trend
reports, and to do custom extracts from 2010 Census and latest 5-year ACS
data
* Accessing ACS base/summary tables and metadata using Uexplore/Dexter
* A brief introduction to the MABLE/Geocorr (geographic correlation)
web applications
As a bonus, Penelope Weinberger (AASHTO) will provide an update on the next
CTPP special tabulation, which will be based on 2011-2015 ACS 5-Year data.
