Large Geos are: place, MCD (for strong MCD states), county, PUMA, state, MSA (and
principal city), and nation and the TAD custom geography.
Tract and TAZ are small.

What do you mean by large geos? It would be nice to have some of the information at Tract
level, but I don't know if that is considered a large or small geographic area.
Thanks,

Importance: High
As a follow on to Ed's email, I would like to bring the community to date on the next
table specification. Attached to this email is a spreadsheet with information and the
proposed table spec as it currently stands. This is a work in progress. This is another
opportunity for your comment. Please review it and get your notes to me. We have so far
successfully reduced the overall tab size according to the Census bureau's directive.
However, we have added some new tables and do not know of the total effect. Please review
the proposal, if you don't understand the layout, let me know and I will try and walk
you through it. If you see tables in the "large Geos only" section in parts 1
or 2, that you strongly feel should be available at small geos, please bring them to my
attention. This is also an opportunity for all who made suggestions to double check and
make sure we caught them all.
Once we submit the tab spec it will be difficult to make changes. I'd like to hear
your comments before that time.
Thanks!

The CTPP December newsletter is now posted at
http://trbcensus.com/ and at
http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/planning/census_issues/ctpp/status_report/.
This issue may be of special interest as there is an article in it updating us on the
table reductions facing the next CTPP data product--ACS data spanning 2012 to 2016. There
are also articles on Measuring Change in Transit Ridership for a New Mode Using ACS: The
Case of the Hudson Bergen Light Rail and Light Rail Overall as well as an article on a
Chattanooga CTPP/Airsage Reasonableness Comparison.
