I'm cross-posting an e-mail exchange on the State Data Center listserv regarding the
schedule for the release of the 1-percent and 5-percent Public Use Microdata Sample. Not
great news.

Chuck and others,
It looks like March 2003 is the date for the 1-percent PUMS (a few months
delayed). 5-percent is expected to be out summer 2003 according to PUMS
staff.

In the notes from the national SDC conference, Jay Waite of the Census
Bureau notes that the "PUMS should come out March 2003 on schedule"
It this the 5-percent PUMS or the 1-percent PUMS? My guess would be the
5-percent PUMS since the 1-percent PUMS is expected by the end of December
2002.
And does the "March 2003" date really mean: "on a flow basis throughout
March 2003"?
Thanks in advance!
