Hi Tom, and everyone, I understand the new content questions won't be implemented
until 2018, so they will not affect the 2012 to 2016 tab. If the content is different
enough (like with the 2008 disability content change) we will consider the impact on a
future tab after 2017.

Penelope- Do you know when the revised ACS questions describing the transit modes,
including Light rail and commuter rail/intercity rail changes will start to be used on the
ACS? I was told it was going to start in 2016, so a full 5 year sample from 2016-2020
would be available for the 2020 census product. I assume this means that the 2012-2016
data will have one year of the revised mode question data for transit with the current
questions? Will that present any issues? Also are there any other changes, I know
there was a relook at the time leaving home to maybe time arriving at work. I am
already starting to use this new 2009-2013 product. Thanks for any information. Tom

Thanks Brian, this is awesome!
A great interim product between two full blown CTPP tabulations. The current data, based
on the 2006 - 2010 ACS is out now, and the next non-overlapping full tab be based on the
2012 - 2016 ACS (we skipped a year, to take full advantage of the increase in sample size)
is expected in late 2018.
So all you data-philes can use this county level data until the next thing rolls our
way...

Subject: [CTPP] New 2009-2013 county-to-county commuting flows released today
Good morning,
Just wanted to give a heads up that the new county commuting flows, based on the 5-year
2009-2013 ACS were released today. The tables include the typical worker flow counts as
well as a means of transportation component (4 categories: drove alone, carpool, transit,
other). The tables also include a metropolitan area indicator, so it is possible to sort
and organize by metro area.
Enjoy,
Brian
