Jay--that is an excellent suggestion for people on the list to do.
Another thing that those who use auto responders can do is to put a rule
on their end saying not to send an auto response to certain email
addresses. That way people could be attacking the problem from both
ends. I have been looking into how to set up rules for the auto
responders but it looks to different for different email clients.
If anyone wants to send me the rules for how to set up your email client
not to respond to certain lists please email me (edc(a)berwyned.com)
directly. I will compile all the ways and make a generic email to send
out to the offenders each time it happens. It make take a while, but
overtime we might get the problem solved for all.
Thanks for being so patient on what I know can be an irritating issue.
Remember though, that the irritation is only one keystroke, "delete", away.

Since these come up in other listservs also, I suggest
that everyone
make a "rule" in your email program that shoots all messages with "out
of the office" in the subject line into a junk mail folder. Then you
will never see them.
