Thanks Bob for the "official" timeline. One item that would not be on the
Bureau's timeline is the CTPP. We are holding to a December 2002 date for the
release of the CTPP data.
Chuck P had asked if the CTPP will have a State and Urban element. Rather than
get into a long answer that sez sorta, let's leave that question linger just a
little bit longer. Currently, the ctpp planning group is discussing the release
media, packaging and all those sorts of details so nothing is specific. The
early thinking has been that there would not be separate packages but that the
state and urban elements would be combined. Again, we will be dealing with this
issue a little bit further out in our time line.
The issue that will be before all of us this summer will be the tables and
content of the CTPP. Very shortly we will be distributing draft CTPP table
content for everyone's' review, comments and ideas. During the last two years
we have heard from a lot of folk and have some good input. We are planning to
have the content fully identified by the end of the summer or shortly there
after.
Once we get the content pinned downed, we can focus on the "glitzy" stuff like
packaging.

Jim..
Just in case you have not seen it, I am attaching the latest document that I
have seen on the dissemination plans for Census 2000 data products. As
always, the dates are subject to change.
Questions should be directed to Louisa Miller in Population Division at the
Census Bureau.
Hope this will clear up any questions on when the standard products will be
available.
