[CTPP] Update on CTPP 2000 Part 3 Data Files

We have begun production runs of the preliminary Part 3 data that we will be asking the State DOTs and MPOs to review. We will create the ASCII files and pass them along to BTS for posting on the www.transtats.bts.gov website for downloading. We are shooting for the files to be up on the site the week of April 19. We are releasing the ASCII data files first, and not waiting for the CDs with software because the changes to the software that are needed for Part 3 will take longer to implement. This way agencies will be able to access the Part 3 data as soon as possible. Even if you have not used the ASCII files for Part 1 or Part 2, you might want to take a look at them for Part 3 and see if you can use them in that format. We will send another message informing you of the availability of the files once they are loaded on the web site.
