Thanks Elaine for sharing, very interesting.
Following up on your item #2 from below, we @ the Atlanta Regional Commission recently
completed our regional household travel survey, which features results visualization
components of both the GPS sub-sample as well as the entire survey diary activities,
thanks to Atlanta's GeoStats for working with us on that. It is quite fascinating to
actually see travel movement activities throughout the region, by trip / tour types, over
the course of a day. This is great for daytime population travel patterns, which can be
used for evacuation planning purposes, etc...

Subject: [CTPP] Sharing prototype of travel survey data visualization tools developed by
ORNL
http://nhts.ornl.gov/det/ Data Visualization Prototypes from Oak Ridge National Labs,
for Federal Highway Administration
I don't know how long these tools have been available on the NHTS website, but I found
them a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would share the link because these ideas might be
useful for :
1. People who are working on the Commuting in America project
2. People who have their own regional or statewide household survey and plan for
interactive web-based data access tools
If you have questions about NHTS: a contact list is available here:
