Big new batch of data released this morning - - -
The Census Bureau's data file: ProfileDataUS.zip contains the "US Summary"
demographic profile pages (#1 - #4) in CSV format. The file is in the following directory
on the Census Bureau's site:
http://www2.census.gov/census_2000/datasets/100_and_sample_profile/0_United…
It has data for the US, states, Census regions and divisions, metropolitan areas (MSAs,
PMSAs, CMSAs); American Indian and Alaskan Native reservations and Homelands; and
congressional districts. IT DOESN'T HAVE DATA FOR COUNTIES OR PLACES. Of course, it
has no variable name record, so you need to do some work to process this file.
I'll be in the process of uploading some of our analyses (XLS and CSV datasets) to our
FTP site. Feel free to grab. New site directory is:
ftp://ftp.abag.ca.gov/pub/mtc/census2000/DP2-4/National/
