locations in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area, seeks
individuals with interest and experience in the areas of Census,
Demographics and Travel Survey Services. Berger is a multidisciplinary
engineering, planning, economic, and environmental consulting firm. The
Planning & Economics Departments clients include a wide range of
federal, state, and regional agencies, municipal governments, and
private-sector firms.
For one of its clients, the Planning and Economics Department is seeking
to fill a challenging position in Lower Manhattan for on-site placement
with a transportation agency. The successful applicant will work as part
of a team to design travel surveys, develop data products, maintain a
webpage, analyze survey and census data, adjust data for undercount, and
prepare technical reports. Experience with the development and analysis
of travel surveys, familiarity with Census data (e.g., CTTP, ACS, and
PUMS), experience with statistical packages (e.g., SPSS) and methods,
and strong quantitative and technical skills are required. Prior
knowledge of GIS platforms and Access is also essential.
The ideal candidate should have:
* 3-5 years of experience
* Graduate or post-graduate degree (PhD) in regional science, regional
planning, sociology, statistics, economics.
* Familiarity with transportation issues
* Good verbal communication and writing skills.

request for the Census Bureau (focus on 2010 census and economic
statistics) and the Bureau of Economic Analysis from Terri Ann
