Walkable Washington 2016 Symposium & Awards
June 7, 2016
Bellevue City Hall Council Chambers
450 110th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004
Call for Case Studies!
Preparations for the 2016 Walkable Washington Symposium are underway and Feet First seeks
to highlight your programs and projects that are promoting walking as an important public
policy, engaging communities in walking for transportation or physical activity, or
creating a more walk-friendly neighborhood.
All programs and projects that meet our criteria and fit into one of the three categories
below will be in the running to win the Walkable Washington Innovation Award in 2016:
Design and Engineering ? projects that involve infrastructure and structural developments
Advocacy and Encouragement ? programs and events that raise awareness about the benefits
of walking, and/or encourage people to engage in pedestrian planning in their communities
Vision and Planning ? projects that involve plans, codes, ordinances or guidance for
neighborhoods, cities/towns, counties or regions to make it safer and easier for people to
choose to go by foot
Awards are decided by a panel of judges, representing advocates, innovators, and leaders
on in issues of walkability, livability, and the diverse range of benefits related to
walkable communities.
If you have a program or project that fits into one of these three categories, please
share it with us! Fill out this online form (
