Just curious, as I wasn't at TRB: How are we
defining "younger"?
Assuming I qualify, I think this is a great idea and am definitely
interested!

I’m copying Pete Jenior who is the new chair of the Design and
Construction Group (DCG) Younger Member Subcommitee.
Pete is taking the lead this year and his committee had gone
through some extensive rotation in the last year as the charter
members rotated off.
I attended his committee meeting and there’s tremendous vitality
and interest with the new members. Health and Transportation
would be a nice complement to the Design and Construction Group.
I will leave it to you to reach out to Pete as I don’t know who
some of you are! Pete, please follow up as you see fit. I can
provide some other input on the H&T task force.

Hi!
Thanks again to you both for all your help with YPHT.
After the session and much thinking, I think it's best for the
group to be part of the H&T Subcommittee. So henceforth it shall
be known as, H&T-YMC, the Health and Transportation Subcommittee--
Young Members Committee!
I'm going to put together a steering committee to help form and
shape the group. As I mentioned at the subcommittee meeting, I see
it having two prongs, one focused on research and involving Young
Professionals in TRB-specific activities and the other focused on
professionals development and networking, both at TRB and
throughout the year.
I want to create a list-serve to stay in touch with the people who
came to the gathering, and, in the future, to communicate with
folks who want to be a part of the group. To that end, is it
possible to get a domain like the subcommittee has -- so
HT-YMC(a)chrispy.net <mailto:HT-YMC@chrispy.net>, or is that only
possible through official TRB channels? If it's too difficult, I
can always form a google group, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks again.
All the best,
Arielle
p.s. Carey-- I meant to tell you, I still regularly turn to, and
even quote, your dissertation. It has made a tremendous impact on
my work on Vision Zero :)
