Expansion: National Public Health Assessment Model (N-PHAM)

  • Major new funding support from the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (NHLBI)
  • Integrate new capabilities into the existing tool platform utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI)-derived models
  • Enable the efficient generation of large-scale micro-level pedestrian features from digital imagery

Patent Awarded to UD4H

  • Awarded a patented invention in early 2023
  • UD4H continues to leverage innovative data generation technologies
  • Prioritization and optimization of cost-effective urban design solutions to enhance physical activity and cardiometabolic health

Project Completed: Environmental Factors in Disease Prevention & Wellness Promotion

  • A collaborative study with Novo Nordisk
  • Investigated how built and natural environmental factors impact weight trajectories and downstream chronic disease across the life-course
  • Conducted a pilot analysis connecting environmental factors with study sites used by randomized control trials

National Public Health Assessment Model (N-PHAM) Applications

  • Applied in 5 new regions across the country
  • Continues to assist agencies to better incorporate health-related outcomes into transportation, land use and community design planning practice

Dr. Xiao Shi, Senior Analyst
UD4H is pleased to announce that Dr. Xiao Shi has joined UD4H as a Senior Analyst.

Xiao brings more than 10 years of experience in transportation, climate and health, and statistical modeling to UD4H.

We look forward to bringing her skills and experience to our current and future portfolio of projects.
