Exploring Data and Metrics of Value at the Intersection of Health Care and Transportation

TRB and the Health and Medicine Division, both of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, are holding a workshop on April 12-13, 2016 in Washington, D.C. that will explore the interface of health care and transportation. Submit abstracts by March 31, 2016.
http://onlinepubs.trb.org/onlinepubs/conferences/2016/transitandhealthcareabstracts.pdfThe workshop will showcase local examples of formal and informal health care and transportation partnerships; explore ways to use data to estimate the value of transportation to health care in various settings; examine performance measures pertinent to the relationship between transit/transportation services and health care outcomes; and, discuss what is needed to calculate the return on investment in terms of health outcomes. (For example: Does providing transportation access lead to improved health?). A workshop summary based on the day’s proceedings will be prepared by an independent rapporteur.
