Subject: [CTPP] ACS Content review, Journey to Work questions at risk

Hi All,

The Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) Office is performing content review for ACS questions.  The Journey to Work questions are being looked at critically, with special threat to the time departing for work question.

At this time, it would be very helpful if you or your staff could provide Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) (who are responsible for the DOT defense of the questions) any support in the form of how ACS data are used to fulfill mandates, especially relating the Census ACS "time of departure for work" question to MAP-21, NEPA and other mandates.

Census has given DOT less than two weeks to gather and report this information, so time is of the essence.

Please respond to me ASAP and I will get your responses to BTS.

Thanks,
