Transportation Planner – System Performance
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments, the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Oklahoma City Area Regional Transportation Study (OCARTS) area, seeks a highly motivated, skilled, self-starting professional to fill
a key position within the Transportation & Planning Services (TPS) Division. This position requires excellent analytical, communication, data management and problem‑solving abilities.
The position serves as the principal professional and technical resource for metropolitan planning organization (MPO) regional performance based planning including: the Congestion Management Process, system targets and measurements, and
safety and security planning for the MPO. Other responsibilities include coordination of related committees and/or subcommittees, and assisting in the development of the long range transportation plan. Makes frequent decisions important to the projects for
which he/she has responsibility.
NOTE: The position will be filled at either the Assistant Planner or
Associate Planner level, depending on qualifications.
Minimum Requirements:
Assistant Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geography, Planning or related field, plus one (1) year of professional experience. A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for the
1‑year experience. Starting Salary Range: $38,000 - $45,000
Associate Planner: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geography, Planning, or related field, plus three (3) years of professional experience. A Master’s Degree in related field may substitute for
1‑year of experience. Starting Salary Range: $43,000 - $50,000
