I’ll share with you all the advice I give to all the various people who call looking for Census data.
· If you need a few tables (a few topics) for a large number of locations, or for all records of a sumlevel (for example, all Census Tracts in Minnesota), try
o http://census.ire.org/data/bulkdata.html (just the data, very quick to use)
o or http://nhgis.org (data + GIS shapefile)
· If you need many tables (many topics) for a small number of locations (less than 200 specific geographic units), try FactFinder (or FF2)
· If you need many tables (many topics) for many locations, either build your own database from “Summaryfile” downloads at http://www2.census.gov
· Or if you need many tables (many topics) for many locations + you have SAS, utilize downloads from http://mcdc.missouri.edu/applications/uexplore.shtml#census2010
Bottom line: There are several good sites for downloading Census data -- not just one site.
Cheers.

There is a drop down box. You have to select each of those 87 counties one at a time, then download them, one at a time. Welcome to the new AFF.

I was able to download a table containing county-level population statistics. But the downloaded file contained only the data for the particular county that was displayed in the results tab. The file did not contain data for the other 87 counties that I had also selected.
