Apologies for cross-posting, please forward to census data users

Attention CTPP Data Users

The Census Bureau has directed us to request a special tabulation for our next 5-year data product that is one third (1/3) the size of our current special tabulation. Additionally, we are limited in the number of tables that can include all levels of geography; most tables will be produced at census summary levels of place, MCD (for strong MCD states), county, TAD, PUMA, state, MSA (and principal city), and nation.  Only a few will also be available at Tract and TAZ.

We need your input for the elimination of tables in the CTPP, we are leery of eliminating tables critical to analysis.  We have employed a methodology to suggest tables for elimination, however, a key feature of the methodology (google analytics for number of times a data table is accessed at any geography) does not take into account any users who have accessed the data by any means other than through the software.  All “power users” who have downloaded data by FTP take note.  Your use is not captured, and we need to hear from you!

CTPP is hosting a series of “town hall” meetings to present our findings and get your input and feedback.

Please consider attending one:

Monday, November 9 at 10:00 am EST

Tuesday, November 10 at 1:00 pm EST, or

Thursday, November 12 at Noon EST

By logging into: https://connectdot.connectsolutions.com/ctpp_town_hall/ and dialing: 1-888-585-9008 passcode/room: 433-083-926

The same information will be presented at all three meetings, so you need only attend one. Registration is not required, but space is limited.  If you would like the materials and methodology to review ahead, please email pweinberger@aashto.org and I will send the materials.

I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming week,

Thank you
