I’ve tried to answer this question myself looking through listserv messages and various web pages.
I’m trying to understand the process for FHWA’s adjusted urban area (FAUB/UAB). I looked through what Ed sent on Feb 10th - FHWA updated page w/ guidance:

This page has a ton of useful info but I didn’t see anything on adjusted Urban Boundaries (FAUB/UAB/other). Does anyone know about this process, who is involved (State DOT,
Cities, MPOs), and what the possible timelines are? I thought there was a move in FFC away from designating Urban vs. Rural Functional Class, perhaps things have changed and FHWA is no longer using adjusted boundaries this time around?
