CTPP Planning Partners -

Do you use ACS, QCEW, Census Transportation Planning Products or other data sources for planning, modelling, or policy? Ever wonder how to best use these data sources or what data source is best for a certain application or to answer a specific question?

We are asking for your insights on how and when you use employment data. To access the survey, use the following link: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2416685/Employment-Data-For-Transportation-Planning.

Employment data can help answer key questions such as: Where do workers live? How do workers travel to work? Or, how accessible are employment centers? But using these data is challenging when there are multiple sources of employment data – each with different procedures, universes, and information. Different data sources can produce significantly different estimates of employment and work distribution patterns.

Your responses to this survey will help us all better understand how and when to use employment data. This survey is being performed under NCHRP 8-36, Task 127 Employment Data which will develop a Resource Guide for transportation professionals. This guide will provide information on the best data sources for specific purposes, frequently asked data questions, and a library of examples of innovative applications of employment data.

The information and insights you share will help all of us learn more about the current applications and future potential uses of employment data.

To access the survey, use the following link: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2416685/Employment-Data-For-Transportation-Planning. Please respond by Feb 1st.
