The fast and easy way, delete the Access file and download the empty shell again.  J

If someone has Access experience can help, I would love to know how to delete all the HI records from three tables I imported for testing purposes of the great Access instructions.

I need to get the data out of there before KY’s comes out and I don’t use Access much.

Thanks

Linda J.

Hi  I did the  MS ACCESS Directions and it worked and was easy.

I did the HI example (except I chose a different table than the example) and I guess with interruptions it still was fairly brief; e.g. less than half hour.

Would anyone like to volunteer to test out these directions and then report back to the CTPP listserv on how well it worked?

Sometimes when I send an email, the link gets broken.  The full link ends in “….pdf”

In the meantime, I am testing out the data access system at the Missouri

data extractor (Dexter/uexplore) to look at Summary File 1.  It is pretty easy, so far.

http://mcdc.missouri.edu/cgi-bin/uexplore?/pub/data/sf12010

on this page, select the FIRST LINE “Datasets.html”   then I selected Colorado.

I chose counties  in Denver 08031  using the FILTER (first set of boxes) and selected “tracts”  and then I selected Table H 12 and got a comma-delimited file, which I read into excel.   You have to select BOTH the geography fields in the LEFT box as well as the table (variable) fields in the RIGHT box.   If you forget to select the geography fields,  you will get the table variables without any corresponding geography, which is not very useful. Ask me how I know. J

Finally, I thought that when the Census released the Summary File 1 files on the ftp site that it meant the data would also be in AFF2, but apparently this is not true.  There are “quick tables” in AFF2, and these may satisfy your needs, but it is not the full set.
