Let me point out a few things about the listserve, especially for the new
members.
First you will see the old handle "a1do8" showing up. Changing it to ABJ30 is
not just an overnight thing and it sorta keeps us tied to our past. Second,
to reply to a message and make sure it goes to the whole committee you need
to do a "reply all". The list lets you attach files but anything over 100K
looks like it goes through a hold that I have to approve. This is part of our
spam system which keeps non registered email addresses from getting to the
whole list.
Regarding who is on this listserve, it is 35 strong. The list contains only
the committee members and pending ones, Tom P from TRB and his side kick Brian
Canepa. Besides helping Tom as his full time job, Brian is also in a graduate
planning program which makes all of this a little bit more than a job. Being
a "new" guy I suspect Brian will be at the registration desk in January so
make it point to look him up and say hello from the committee. Finally, the
list emails go to my friend Chris Parrinello aka "chrispy.net" who is hosting
the listserve, servers and software out of his garage.
