ABJ30 Members and Friends –
This is a message from Stacey Bricka regarding an opportunity for input on the future of NHTS – hope you can participate!

Hi – as you may remember from the 2012 Annual Meeting, TRB established ABJ45T (TRB Task Force on New Directions for the NHTS) in Fall 2011 to serve as a bridge between FHWA and the NHTS data user community, providing updates and listening to the needs of the data user community with regard to the design of the next NHTS.  In support of our scope, we have scheduled several in-person NHTS data user forums at conferences this summer and fall, with the goal being to hear from as many users as possible.

As part of that effort, ABJ45T will be hosting an NHTS data user’s forum at NATMC.  This will be held on Wednesday, June 6, from 10:30 am to noon, in the Continental Room.  The plan is focus on three main questions:  (1) what do you/have you used the NHTS for?  (2) how well does it meet your needs?  (3) what would you like to see as part of the next NHTS?  We are also planning to give a brief update on FHWA activities to prepare for the next survey.

The resulting discussion will be documented and compiled in a research circular (along with the details gleaned at the other forums) and a presentation to FHWA.

The forum is open to all NATMEC attendees and particularly the members and friends of your committees.
