Hello TRB AED20 committee friends-

 

Thanks to everyone who attended the AED20 Midyear meeting today.  Minutes and other material will be posted to the committee website in the near future.

One of the items we discussed today was preparing for Annual Meeting paper reviews.  As usual,  the TRB paper submission deadline is August 1, and papers should be out for review from August 15 – September 15.    As a “high volume” committee (we receive more than 100 papers to review each year), your assistance in reviewing papers is a critical element since each paper needs multiple reviewers with a diversity of experience to ensure well-rounded reviews.  To help us connect reviewers with papers, please complete this very short survey by Thursday, July 29:

Our hope is to use this survey to better match papers with reviewers interested in each topic.  This hopefully will make for better reviews and also be more interesting to you all.

I hope everyone is doing well.  The TRB Urban Data Committee midyear meeting is scheduled for June 29 from 2-4 PM Eastern.  I have attached the agenda and some materials for you to review before our June 29 Midyear meeting.  Some specific items to note are:

• The midyear meeting will be virtual via Zoom.  The attached agenda has the login in information.  
• I have attached the draft minutes from the January Annual meeting.  Please review this and provide any comments to Pavithra before the midyear meeting (pparthasarathi@hrtpo.org).
• IMPORTANT:  One of the focus items for the midyear meeting will be to discuss the update to our committee Triennial Strategic Plan.  Jim, Jinghua, Leta, and Karen have all worked hard to develop an initial draft, which is attached.  We hope to have a good discussion of the TSP during the midyear meeting.
