ABJ30 Committee Members and Friends –
Emily and I received invitations to participate in this survey and thought you might want to also help (sorry for the short time frame) –
ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE (if you haven’t already had the chance) -
We would like your help in sharing information with transportation planners about a Virtual Conference on Transportation Planning Research Needs. This is an NCHRP project (NCHRP Project 8-36, Task 95), conducted for the AASHTO Standing Committee on Planning. The Virtual Conference will be held on-line with a series of webinars starting in late February or early March 2010. We are trying to get a broad input on the challenges and needs facing transportation planners across the country, including those at State DOTs, MPOs, transit agencies, and other transportation agencies.
We have an online survey that we would like practitioners to complete to provide us with an early indication of the topics and issues that they face; the survey results will help us shape the development of the virtual conference, and influence the preparation of background materials. Here is the link to the survey:
www.TransportationPlanningNeeds.com.
We would like to have the survey completed by December 4th so there is limited time! You may have already received information on this through TRB, but I am sending this message to encourage you to pass the survey onto your committee members. Please see text below that you can cut and paste into an e-mail to distribute to your committee.
Also, as part of this effort, ICF International has been conducting a scan of the Research Needs Database, as well as other documents that have identified research priorities. If your committee has recently developed its own identification of research priorities related to transportation planning, please share that with us as well, so that we can include this as part of our background review of research needs. Please e-mail me at mgrant@icfi.com and Terence Plaskon or Kathleen Rooney (cc:ed on this e-mail). Thank you and happy Thanksgiving!
