Subject: TRB Committee ABJ30 - annual paper review survey and update

 

Dear TRB ABJ30 committee members and friends – hope this finds your summer both relaxing and productive! 

 

The TRB paper submission/review cycle will begin on August 1, which is the deadline for paper submission.  From there, papers will be assigned to committees and then the committees will assign the papers to the reviewers.  The paper review period is August 15 – September 10.  The entire process will be completed by mid-September, with review results and final session details input into the TRB system before October 1. 

 

As with prior years, members should expect to receive 4-5 papers to review from this committee.  Friends are asked to review 1-2 papers for ABJ30 (if you’d like to review more, we’re happy to assign more to you!).  You may receive additional reviews from different committees – we don’t have a way of coordinating assignments across committees. 

 

As a “high volume” committee (i.e., we receive more than 100 papers to review each year), your assistance in reviewing papers is a critical element as each paper needs multiple reviewers with a diversity of experience to ensure well-rounded reviews.  To help us connect reviewers with papers, please complete this very short survey by *Wednesday July 24*:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ABJ30_paperreviews

 

Three important reminders:

  1. In order to receive a paper review assignment from ABJ30, you *must* have a MyTRB profile (www.mytrb.org) and have selected the following “classifications” [as relevant for your areas of expertise] in the “Areas of Interest or Expertise” section of your profile:  

 

  1. Paper review assignments take place within the MyTRB system.  Please login to check the email you have listed in your MyTRB profile and enter that same email here in the survey so we can find you in the system.  This is a great time to recheck your affiliation and contact information as well.

 

  1. As you receive email notifications of paper assignments, please login to MyTRB and accept/decline each paper assigned as quickly as possible.  This helps us manage the review process more efficiently.
